I spoke with some person on GM chat and they said that the ATS could come with 4 doors and a manual. This is rare as most big cars (Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, etc) didn’t seem to.
I can’t really afford a new one (or even a used one yet) but I am thinking that I may purchase one in due time. Other models I am considering are the Challenger and Charger. Does Ford even offer anything sort of like this? RWD 4 door and manual. (Yes I know the Challenger is 2 door). Thoughts? I am still saving my pennies, I want to put about $5K down and I only have $2K so far. Plus I am gonna buy used but recently used like 2010+

Ford offers nothing but FWD with manual, but if you’re looking at the Challenger... Maybe look at the Mustang?

Well don't get the 2.5 if you're able to get the turbo 2.0 in the ATS. Wish they offered a manual in the 3.6.

I hear the base engine is so/so. Powerful enough, but kinda “meh” to drive.

Nope. Not interested in owning german cars. Call me racist or whatever, but that’s the way it is.

What about a Regal GS? No stick ones in Ottawa at the moment and they’re FWD, but you can have one less than five years old for $25k.

What is the engine difference? Is that the engine in the Buick Regal GS? Cause that bad boy could also be on my list.

I am considering. It doesn’t matter that there are no stick ones at the moment, I have some months to go.

Oh I see. Keep in mind I am upgrading from the toruqey 2.2L ecotec so even a modern meh engine may blow me away.

Cross shopping a 300/challenger/charger and a ATS doesn’t make sense to me. the ATS is NOT a big car. the CTS is more in there rang than the ATS.

I like the ATS, especially the 2.0 after Matt Farah’s vid but I can’t get them here which isn’t so bad since this exists.
That said apparently only the diesels come with a manual.

Yes the perfect stablemate to a $35k Cadillac is a $45k Chevy.

He means the base trim but with the 2.0T. The 2.5 isn’t available with a stick.

Just to clarify: the engine available with the manual trans is the 2.0T, which is technically the middle engine. However, you can get a 2.0T in the Base trim. Cadillac allows you to mix and match a bit and with the ATS, the 2.5 is available in base and Lux model, the 3.6 in everything Lux and up. But the 2.0T can be had in any trim. It just can’t be combined with AWF. Hope that helps!

See if you can find a leftover one sitting on a dealer lot. They’ll probably need to dust it off a bit, but then you can lowball the bloody hell out of them.

The ATS is a couple size classes smaller than the other cars you mention. Just looking at the Charger, it is 16” longer, 4” wider, 2” taller, and 600 lbs heavier than the ATS.

Yup. Kind of sucks, but it happens.
Yeah, you’d be surprised. The last major Kinja update kind of cropped the “DO NOT PRESS” on my avatar.

Well, the ATS is not big. It’s about the size of a 3-series, which is decidedly smaller than a Charger. The coupe version is also the younger one; the ATS was a sedan, first.
The manual only comes with the 2.0T engine, I believe, which is good because you want to run away from the 2.5 L N/A.

Oh ok. To be honest a 3 series size is okay if it’s a caddy. All I have is no golf clubs, pets, kids, wife etc. I do have a cactus though but it is only several inches tall so I can put it in any car.
